Arya Pratap's passion for dance started at the tender age of 4 and since then she has been learning Bharatanatyam for 12 years and later started learning Mohinniyattam under the guidance of her Guru and mother Bindu Pratap, disciple of Meera Nambiar/Padmabhushan Dhananjayans. In this short timeframe, she has made significant accomplishments in classical dance, including being named a 2021 Finalist Winner and 2020 Honorable Mention Winner for National Youngarts Foundation, a 2020 Solo Performing-Artist for San Francisco's Ethnic Dance Festival, 1st prize winner in Papanasam Sivan classical dance competition for Northern CA, Top 10 in the Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival, First place at FOG, FIA, and OSAAT classical competitions, and more. She is blessed to have been a part of more than half a dozen productions and fundraisers including, Sri Madurai R. Muralidaran's "Karna", "Nartana Mallika" - a fundraiser for Kerala's flood relief efforts, “Dakshina” - An offering of Rhythms, “Sahanartana”, Bay Area Dance Week, Chennai Flood Relief Fundraiser, Odisha Fundraiser, and “Samanya” - a fundraiser for Voice of a Child. She was also blessed to perform a solo repertoire in Guruvayur Temple, Kerala, India in the summer of 2017 and completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram that fall. Arya is a senior at Saint Francis High School, Mountain View, and she will forever continue exploring her creative pursuits for the performing arts.
